It is always good to have a reason to celebrate. And we at the ELKO Group are blessed with a number of reasons. First of all – life is good!
2016 was an exciting and busy year. There is a feeling that time ran as rapidly as a high-speed train. But we believe that you lose the sense of time when you love what you do.
Everyone has their own achievements, adventures or moments of personal growth to remember. But if we have to choose just a few, most influential to the company’s development, here are the four we came up with:
1. Accelerating IT Solution distribution
Demand for IT solutions is high and rising. Our capacity and competence was greatly reinforced over the last year by the attraction of new, knowledgeable and professional staff dedicated to the faster development of IT Solutions including Video Surveillance, Data Centre Infrastructure, Industrial automation, IoT (Internet of Things) and Smart Home.
2. ELKO Group joins the GTDC
Being accepted as a member of the world’s largest technology industry association – the Global Technology Distribution Council (GTDC) – is an appreciation of our achievements and our business approach. GTDC membership opens doors to the development of even more strong partnership relations and gives us real opportunities to address industry-wide challenges.
3. New partnerships
Increasing our numbers of new vendors is not an end in itself. A well-balanced portfolio which meets customers’ needs is one of our main targets in building long-term partnerships and supporting the development of our business services. During the past year, we added almost 50 new vendors to our portfolio, thereby strengthening and extending our offering of IT solutions and products. We have welcomed well-known brands such as LeEco, Xiaomi, ZTE, Meizu, Alcatel in the growing smartphone segment; Bosch Security and Mikrotik in the IT solutions segment. It is also worth mentioning that we have also effectively extended existing partnerships, for example: Lenovo notebook distribution in Russia, adding Toshiba client class HDDs and the direct distribution of Microsoft Electronic Software Delivery (ESD) in Russia.
4. Bonds listed on the Nasdaq Baltic Bond List
After a very successful initial issue on 14 October 2015, ELKO Grupa AS (short name: ELG) bonds have been listed on the Nasdaq Baltic Bond List by Nasdaq Riga as of 21 March 2016. Bonds to the amount of EUR 8 million were issued, with an annual interest rate of 8%. Raising additional funds allows us to diversify our sources of financing, therefore strengthening our position in markets and facilitating the company’s further growth of.
